Donor Story: Janice Rossbach

Janice Rossbach took her first trip to Israel with her husband in November 1966. While they were on a bus in Be’er Sheva, Janice saw a Magen David Adom ambulance with the name of her husband's uncle on it. It was an extraordinary coincidence, one that not only struck a chord at the moment, but also left a lasting impression. She decided that if she ever had enough money, one day she would donate an ambulance to the people of Israel with her family’s name on it.
Janice’s interest in Magen David Adom grew stronger throughout the years because she and her husband had family members survive the Holocaust and make aliyah, and their children and grandchildren were now living in Haifa and Jerusalem. She liked knowing that MDA was there to take care of her family.
When it came time for Janice to think about ways to support MDA in Israel now and in the future, a charitable gift annuity (CGA) with AFMDA made perfect sense. By creating a CGA, Janice receives a regular, guaranteed fixed income stream for life, and AFDMA will receive what remains after her lifetime.
After creating her CGA, Janice heard about the Boston Ambulance Campaign. She wanted to make sure this campaign was a success and made a new gift to AFMDA. “Being able to fulfill my dream by being the lead donor for the Boston Ambulance Campaign is a dream come true,” said Janice. “It’s an honor and a privilege to help Israel in this meaningful way.”
